TTB STRATEGIZES TO FULLY PENETRATE INTO EUROPEAN AND AMERCAN TOURIST MARKETS.

Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB) has signed special contracts with three consultant agencies from Europe and America to develop special marketing strategy for Germany, U.S.A and United Kingdom as part of initiatives to intensively penetrate into world tourist markets as well stipulated in its five years International Marketing Strategy.
The signing ceremony took place in Tanzania pavilion at the International tourism fair (ITB) whereby the Managing Director of TTB Ms DevotaMdachi and the chief Executive Officers of the Africa Oracle Company from UK, 7o7 Marketing GmbH from Germany and Tourism Intelligence International from U.S.A signed for their organizations respectively.
According to Tanzania Tourist Board’s Marketing Manager Mr. GeofreyMeena the procedures for Public Procurement were properly adhered to for awarding tender for the consultants and that the awardees are supposed to finish the strategies and submit to TTB by June this year ready for implementation.
He said that though the five years International Marketing Strategy has specified about twelve tourists’ source markets in the World but TTB has selected UK, USA and Germany to start with because they are among the leading four tourist markets for Tanzania which are USA, UK, Italy and Germany.
“We have selected these three to start with but later on we will bring on board other countries. It is great hope that once strategies for these three countries are ready they will be very useful for our mission to intensively tap those markets” noted Mr Meena.
The move to officially engage these consultants has come just one day after Tanzania tourist Board signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mauritius Tourism Promotion Board to forge partnership in which the two organizations will jointly promote their countries as twin destinations.
